How Does Headlight Restoration Work

Our headlight restoration process involves professional-grade products and a procedure that includes taping, sanding, applying a restoration solvent and then curing the solvent using UV (Ultra Violet) light. To begin, we'll tape off the area around the headlight to be sure that the surrounding metal or chrome is not damaged during the procedure. Then we'll begin by wetting the headlight and sanding down using a medium-fine grit sand paper. After clearing the residue left from the sanding we'll repeat the process using an ultra-fine grit sand paper and clean the surface again.

Once the headlight has had time to completely dry, we'll use commercial-grade alcohol to be sure that it's completely clear of any debris or residue left from the cleaning process. Then we'll apply the headlight restoration solvent to the light and cure the solvent using UV rays either from the sun (if we're on-site and outside) or from a special UV emitting light.
